From the May/June 2008 issue of Sand Sports Magazine:
WHITE NIGHT
It’s no secret that aftermarket lighting systems are one
of the most popular accessories purchased by off-road
enthusiasts. Improving night vision in the pitch black remote areas
where most people ride is an important part of
both safety and performance. Unlike aftermarket lights designed
to mount on the vehicle and face forward, the White
Night is a new product designed to improve vision at the rear of
your vehicle. This rear lighting system is
designed to mount on your vehicle’s trailer hitch, and it
dramatically improves visibility because the units
two 55 watt halogen lamps work in conjunction with the stock back-up
lights equipped in the taillights. The
White Night fits all vehicles with a Class 1 through Class 4 hitch,
and the company offers a host of mounting
accessories to assist with custom installations and certain applications.
We installed the White Night on our 2007 Chevrolet 2500 pickup,
which came equipped with a factory GM trailer hitch.
Installation
was a breeze, thanks to the company’s trailer wiring relocation
plate and Plug ‘N Go wiring adapter. This enabled us to easily
splice into our truck’s wiring harness, and not have to do
any custom electrical work. This product works so good (extending
visibility to more than 90 feet) that we are surprised GM didn’t
think of it first. Retail-price is approximately $90, not including
the Plug ‘N Go connector or other installation accessories.
